Param Veer Chakra
The ParamVir Chakra (PVC) is India’ highest military award, granted for showing recognized demonstrations of valorduring wartime. The PVC is proportionate to the Medal of Honor in the United States and the Victoria Cross in the United Kingdom. Till now only 21 officers are able to have this honour.

Maha Veer Chakra
The MahaVir Chakra (MVC) (actually great warrior medal) is the second highest Award in India, after the ParamVir Chakra, and is granted for demonstrations of obvious chivalry within the sight of the army, regardless of whether land, sea or in the air. It supplanted the British Distinguished Service Order (DSO). The award can granted after death.
Vir Chakra is an Indian courage Award given for showing of bravery and valor in the war zone.
